(babies through rising 1st graders)

Our Preschool Ministry is staffed by preschool leaders who have experienced callings from God to devote their lives to helping little ones know about the love of God.  The staff plans learning experiences for the preschoolers that include creative art activities, science experiments, Bible stories, outdoor play, music, age-appropriate mission/service activities---much, much more!

Our Preschool Ministry Staff will greet preschoolers at 5:45 Monday through Friday evenings; they will greet preschoolers at 8 a.m. Tuesday through Friday mornings.

We will ask you at check-in to complete a preschool information form, giving us information about your preschooler so that we might minister better to your child.

Older Preschoolers (4’s through rising 1st graders) may remain in the preschool rooms during evening worship, or they may participate with their families and church groups in worship.  The choice belongs to the family.

Preschoolers, too, will learn about “Missions 3:16.”

Grades 2-6

Children (rising 2nd through 6th graders) participating in MC2 will be involved in planned interactive, hands-on learning experiences.  These experiences include Bible stories, cultural awareness activities, mission/service projects appropriate to the age, recreation, and creative activities.

Our children are led by experienced children’s leaders.

Children are greeted by their leaders at 8 a.m. in the Children’s Building Tuesday through Friday mornings.  Their mornings are filled with wonderful faith-shaping experiences.

Their afternoons are free for church-led activities or just relaxing at Eagle Eyrie.

In the evenings (Tuesday through Friday) at 6 p.m., they arrive at the Children’s Building for a time of enrichment (choir chimes, sign language, Spanish as a 2nd language, etc); at 7 p.m. they join their church groups for “Meet the Missionary”; at 7:45 they join us for joyful worship.

7th graders greet their leaders at 8:30 a.m.  Their mornings are filled with hands-on mission/service opportunities at Eagle Eyrie, Bible study times, music, making new friends, and building new skills!

They return to the 7th Grade Center at 6:30 each evening for a time to develop leadership skills.

At 7:00 pm, they join their church groups for time with real live missionaries!  From this experience, they move with their church groups to interactive, exciting worship experiences.

Youth (8th—12th graders as of September 2008)

Our youth have the option of choosing mission/service projects from a wide range of opportunities.  Most of the mission/service projects for youth occur away from Eagle Eyrie campus, in the greater Lynchburg area.

They meet Monday night by mission/service project to coordinate the week’s ministry, to make sure “we’re on the same page.”   Each mission/service project is led by 2 adults.

Youth begin their mornings (early!) with a brief devotion and prayer led by our Youth Ministry Coordinator and/or Youth Ministry Team.

They then board vans to the mission projects.

The mission/service project group serves as the Bible study group.  The 2 adults who lead the mission project serve as Bible study leaders.

Youth join with their church groups for “Meet the Missionaries” and the evening worship.

Wednesday and Friday afternoons offer new opportunities for our youth, opportunities to develop ministry skills.  Please encourage your church’s youth to participate in these skills development sessions----we’re offering some great stuff!

Adults have many choices!  They may participate in hands-on mission/service projects off-campus in the greater Lynchburg area.  They may serve with preschool, children, 7th graders, or youth as teachers, leaders, or helpers.  Or they may remain on-campus at Eagle Eyrie for Bible study, missions study, and mission/service projects such as knitting/sewing or work projects.

Wednesday and Friday afternoons adults gather for skills development sessions that sharpen our ministry skills.

Adults participate in "Meet the Missionaries" with their church groups each evening.

They round out the day with worship!
